According to ISSA’s Clean Standard, general preventive techniques that are helpful to prevent the spread of influenza include disinfection of frequently touched surfaces that may be contaminated with viral particles and is one important control measure. These include door handles, elevator buttons, stair rails, toilet handles, etc.

ESP currently utilizes several methods to disinfect and measure the level of cleanliness for our customers:

• Ultraviolet Light (UV-C) technology to kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to perform; thereby creating a healthier work environment for your employees. It is effective at disinfecting surfaces as well as the air and an effective odor eliminator. Ease of Use: Typically requires only a short amount of exposure to be effective, typically 5-10 minutes based on the size of the area This method is highly effective for flu influenza outbreaks that may occur in your facilty.

• Halosil Disinfection System (EPA Validated) kills 99.9999% of C. diff spores and is an effective disinfectant for MRSA, Staph, Norovirus, Influenza and more. All of Halosil’s disinfectants are hydrogen peroxide based aqueous solutions and is environmentally preferable to other traditional disinfectants such as chlorine bleach, chlorine dioxide or quaternary ammonia, which all leave toxic by-products behind and are known to cause exposure issues. It delivers aerosolized and concentrated disinfectant to every exposed surface within a room. This method is another highly effective solution for flu influenza outbreaks that may occur in your facilty.

• ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) Cleaning Monitoring System - ATP is a molecule found in and around living cells, and as such it gives a direct measure of biological concentration and health. ATP is quantified by measuring the light produced through its reaction with the naturally occurring firefly enzyme luciferase. This system establishes a framework to help commercial and other types of facilities objectively assess the effectiveness of the cleaning process at their facilities, thereby contributing to the quality of the indoor environment to benefit building occupants.
